Makisaki
【 Iki | Iki Tsushima Quasi-National Park 】
Makisaki is the tip of the peninsula that protrudes from the west coast of Iki Island into the East China Sea. It is a scenic spot with a sea cliff about 30 meters above sea level, naturally covered in grass. At the tip of the cape is a huge cave with a diameter of 53m and a circumference of 110m. This cave is called Oni no Ashiato (“footprint of a demon”) and is the largest basalt sea cave in Japan and was selected as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Caves. Also, the sunset from here over the ocean is majestic.
