The area near Kawachi-toge Pass in the northern part of Hirado Island is one of the most distinguished grassland areas in Nagasaki prefecture. The Kawachi-toge Pass road running through this area has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Best Roads. If you climb the mountain from the roadside, at the top you can see the panorama of the Kujukushima Islands in south, the Goto Islands in the southwest, the Genkai Sea in north, and far away Iki and Tsushima Islands. There is also a rest area near the pass.
