Sakyobana
【 Iki | Iki Tsushima Quasi-National Park 】
On the east side of Iki Island, located at the tip of the Yawata Peninsula is Sakyobana. From here a kilometer-long sea cliff extends along the Genkai Sea and creates a spectacular view. A column of basalt from the sea cliff extends magestically out of the surface of the water. This strange rock looks like a bundle of thin pillars and is said to be one of the eight pillars that supports Iki Island according to its own local creation myth.
