Mt. Gongen

Mt. Gongen (height: 198m) is located at the tip of the Nagasaki Peninsula. From the summit you can see the Amakusa Sea to the east, the Goto Sea to the west, and the East China Sea to the south. In early spring, guests can see cranes migrating towards Siberia as well as over 10,000 naturally growing Japanese camellia in the adjacent Camellia Park. On the observation platform is the “Bell of Awakening” which is one of a pair of bells, the other of which is the Peace Bell of Hiroshima Peace Park.
